Your mat will become a playful laboratory to investigate the fascinating relationship between physical structure, biomechanics, gravity and alignment, and create a greater sense of the true goal of Yoga, to develop inner knowing and freedom.
We will dive deeply into both the gross and subtle aspects of Yoga, including: - Learn to Flow with ease, confidence, and grace - Discover and utilize the capacity of breath - Learn anatomy basics - Explore safe and healthy movement patterns in fundamental yoga asana (postures) - Build confidence in yourself to walk into any yoga class - Overview of yoga prop use and function - Cultivate patience and becoming the “observer” - Sun Salutation break-down - Appreciate the comprehensive and thorough discovery of the body-mind connection - Understand alignment, structural and muscular anatomy, power vs. force
Each session involves lecture, physical practice, note-taking, discussion Q & A, processing and integration. Please bring a notebook, pen and pencil, and wear comfortable clothing that you can be ready to sweat in!
